A Community Picnic Filled with Connection, Sunshine, and Support

Last Thursday, we gathered at Van Dyck Park for our Community Picnic, and as I look back on the afternoon, my heart is full.

Thank you to every family who joined us.

Thank you for spending your afternoon with us. When I first envisioned this event, my hope wasn't simply to host a picnic. It was to create a space where families could connect and where children could freely play.

As I reflected on the event afterward, I realized something special about every one of our partners: each business was inspired by motherhood and a desire to support other families.

  • We were also grateful to have Aileen from It's Your Day USA, who joined us despite being in one of the busiest seasons of motherhood herself. As a new mother to an almost 100-day-old baby, she still took the time to support our event and help create a welcoming and joyful atmosphere for families. Thank you for sharing your time with us during such a precious season.

  • Although Laura of Just Ducky Company was unable to join us in person, she generously supported the event with sensory materials. As a former teacher, Laura has transformed her passion for children's learning and play into creating beautiful sensory fillers and experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity.

  • Aqsa founded Mama Matters after experiencing firsthand the importance of community following the birth of her second child. Her bouquet bar brought beauty and connection to the event while reflecting the heart behind her work—creating spaces where mothers feel seen and supported. I heard amazing rich conversations while mamas were creating beautiful bookmarks.

  • Euijin created YumYummy Meal while raising her own children, recognizing how difficult it can be for busy parents to provide nutritious meals day after day. Through thoughtfully prepared meals made with organic ingredients, lower sodium, and a focus on the nutritional needs of growing children, she helps give families back one of their most valuable resources: time.

  • We are also incredibly grateful to Dr. Yousaf of Treehouse Pediatric Dentistry for sponsoring silicone bibs and toothbrushes for our little ones. Her family-centered practice is built around helping children feel comfortable and confident during dental visits. And their dentist aesthetic is chefs’ kiss! We are thankful for her support of local families and young children.

  • A special thank you as well to Chick-fil-A West Tysons for donating free-item coupons for our attendees.

Most importantly, thank you to the families who showed up.

I hope you left having met a new parent, exchanged a phone number, discovered a local resource, or watched your child make a new friend. I hope you enjoyed a sun-filled afternoon of play, conversation, and community.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Events like this remind me that villages don't simply appear—we build them together, one conversation, one playdate, and one gathering at a time.

Thank you for being part of ours.
